Your information, handled with care

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Project NC collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information across our marketing website, campaign operations dashboard, and mobile app.

At a glance

Privacy in plain language

Project NC is operated by Lig Dev Corp. We provide tools that approved campaigns, organizations, staff, and volunteers use to coordinate voter outreach and field operations.

Purpose-driven collection

We collect information needed to operate accounts, assigned lists, outreach workflows, support, and security.

Role-based access

Campaign and contact data is available only according to account roles, assignments, and permissions.

No precise device location

The current mobile app does not request access to your device's precise location.

Questions are welcome

You can contact us at support@projectnc.com.

1. Scope and roles

This Privacy Policy applies to the Project NC marketing website, Field Operations dashboard, mobile application, and related support services that link to this policy (collectively, the “Services”).

Campaigns and organizations that use Project NC may decide which records to upload, which users may access them, and how outreach information is used. For that customer-controlled information, the campaign or organization is responsible for its instructions and access decisions, and Project NC processes the information to provide the Services. Questions about a campaign's use of your information may be best directed to that campaign or organization.

2. Information we collect

Account and organization information

We may collect a user's name, username, email address, authentication credentials, campaign or organization affiliation, assigned role, account permissions, and support communications.

Campaign, voter, lead, and volunteer information

Customers may provide voter-file data, imported lead or volunteer records, and other campaign information. Depending on the source and customer configuration, these records may include names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, voter-registration or district information, precinct information, contact preferences, list assignments, and related identifiers.

Outreach and interaction information

Authorized users may submit contact results, notes, timestamps, follow-up status, support or opposition indicators, issues of interest, and other information about campaign outreach. Notes should be accurate, professional, relevant, and collected only as authorized by the campaign or organization.

Technical and usage information

When you use the Services, our systems may receive standard technical information such as IP address, browser or device type, operating system, requested pages or API endpoints, timestamps, error data, and security events. We use this information to deliver, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the Services.

Map data

The mobile app can display map locations associated with assigned voter or lead records. These are contact-record coordinates supplied through the campaign's data—not the user's live device location. Map tiles are provided by OpenStreetMap; a tile request may disclose standard connection information such as your IP address and app user agent to the map provider. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy.

Current app permissions: The Project NC mobile app does not currently request access to precise device location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera. If a future feature requires a new device permission, the app will request permission through the operating system and this policy will be updated as appropriate.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services.
  • Authenticate users and administer roles, permissions, and campaign assignments.
  • Display assigned voters, leads, lists, maps, contact details, and interaction history.
  • Save and synchronize outreach results, notes, and list status.
  • Respond to support requests and communicate about service issues.
  • Monitor reliability, investigate misuse, prevent fraud, and protect accounts and data.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable agreements and policies.
  • Create aggregated or de-identified insights that do not reasonably identify an individual.

Project NC does not use campaign contact records for unrelated consumer advertising.

4. How we share information

We may share information in these limited circumstances:

  • With the campaign or organization using Project NC. Authorized managers, administrators, staff, and volunteers may access information according to their roles and assignments.
  • With service providers. Vendors that help us host, secure, support, or operate the Services may process information only to perform services for us and subject to appropriate obligations.
  • With map providers. Loading map tiles may send standard technical request data to OpenStreetMap infrastructure.
  • For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or valid government requests, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Services.
  • In a business transaction. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to applicable law.
  • With your direction or consent. We may share information when you or the responsible campaign or organization instructs us to do so.

We do not sell personal information for money. We also do not share campaign contact records for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

The public marketing pages do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics scripts. The dashboard may use cookies or similar local technologies that are necessary for sign-in, session continuity, security, preferences, and core functionality. Disabling necessary cookies may prevent parts of the dashboard from working.

6. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, fulfill customer instructions, maintain security and audit records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary based on the type of information, the campaign or organization's needs, contractual requirements, and applicable law.

When information is no longer required, we may delete it, de-identify it, or retain it in a securely restricted backup until that backup is overwritten under our normal retention process.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. Access to campaign data is restricted through accounts, roles, permissions, and assignments.

No system can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their credentials, avoid sharing accounts, keep devices secured, and report suspected unauthorized access promptly to support@projectnc.com.

8. Your choices and rights

You may update some account information through the Services or by contacting your campaign administrator. You may also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your Project NC account.

If information was provided or controlled by a campaign or organization, we may refer your request to that organization or coordinate with it before acting. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where required or permitted by law. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights and the right to appeal our response.

To submit a privacy request, email support@projectnc.com with the subject “Privacy Request.” Please do not send passwords or sensitive voter information by email.

9. Children's privacy

The Services are intended for authorized campaign and organizational users and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the Services. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can review and address the issue.

10. U.S. processing

Project NC is operated in the United States. If you access the Services from another country, your information may be processed and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Services, our practices, or applicable requirements. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice through the Services or by another appropriate method.
