Project NC Support

Help center and user guide for the Project NC mobile app and Field Operations dashboard.

Project NC helps approved campaign staff and volunteers manage voter outreach, assigned lists, contacts, and field interactions. This support page explains how to access the app, sign in, use your assigned tools, troubleshoot common issues, and contact support.

What is Project NC?

Project NC is a campaign operations platform built for North Carolina campaigns and field teams. It connects a mobile app for approved volunteers with a web-based Field Operations dashboard for campaign managers and administrators.

The platform is used to organize:

  • Voters
  • Leads
  • Volunteers
  • Walking lists
  • Phone lists
  • Assigned contacts
  • Outreach results
  • Field interactions

Project NC is designed to help campaign teams move from raw data to organized voter contact.

Who can use Project NC?

Project NC is not a public social app. Access is limited to approved campaign staff, administrators, managers, and volunteers.

Typical user types:

  • Campaign administrators
  • Campaign managers
  • Volunteer coordinators
  • Approved volunteers
  • Field staff
  • Data managers

Users need an active account before signing into the app or dashboard.

If you were invited to use Project NC, your campaign manager or administrator should provide your account information and instructions.

To request access:

  2. Confirm the email address or username assigned to your account.
  3. Confirm whether you should use the mobile app, the dashboard, or both.
  4. If you cannot sign in, email support@projectnc.com.

Note: Project NC support can help troubleshoot account issues, but access approval is controlled by your campaign or organization.

Using the Project NC mobile app

The mobile app is designed for approved volunteers and field users.

Main app areas:

My Lists
Shows walking lists or phone lists assigned to your account.
My Contacts
Shows voters or leads assigned to you across active lists.
Voter Search
Allows approved users to search available voter records based on their campaign permissions.
Sync Status
Shows whether your app is connected and whether recent activity has synced.
Voter or Lead Detail
Shows contact information, address details, assigned list status, and previous interaction history where available.

Using the Field Operations dashboard

The Field Operations dashboard is the web portal used by campaign managers and administrators.

Managers and administrators may use the dashboard to:

  • Manage voters
  • Manage leads
  • Manage volunteers
  • Build walking lists
  • Build phone lists
  • Assign lists to volunteers
  • Review field activity
  • Review interaction history
  • Configure platform settings

Dashboard access is limited by role and permissions. If you do not see a dashboard feature, your account may not have permission to use it.

Voters, leads, and contacts

Project NC may include both voter records and lead records.

Voters
Voter records generally come from voter data sources and may include registration, district, precinct, and address information.
Leads
Lead records may come from alternative sources such as mailing lists, events, sign-up forms, or imported contact lists.
Contacts
In the mobile app, contacts usually means voters or leads assigned to your account through a walking list, phone list, or campaign workflow.

Walking lists and phone lists

Project NC supports two major assignment types.

Walking Lists
Used for door knocking and in-person voter contact. A walking list contains assigned voters or leads for a volunteer to visit.
Phone Lists
Used for calling voters or leads. A phone list contains assigned contacts for phone banking and outreach.

Each list may show:

  • List name
  • Description
  • Assigned contacts
  • Completion status
  • Contact results
  • Interaction history

Recording interactions

Interactions are records of outreach activity. Volunteers use interactions to report what happened during a door knock, phone call, or other contact attempt.

Common interaction results may include:

  • Completed
  • Contacted
  • Not home
  • Refused
  • Wrong number
  • Moved
  • Follow-up needed
  • Supporter
  • Opposed
  • Undecided

When recording an interaction:

  1. Open the assigned voter, lead, or contact.
  2. Choose the correct result or status.
  3. Add notes if needed.
  4. Save the interaction.
  5. Confirm the app syncs successfully.

Important: Interaction history should be accurate and professional. Notes may be visible to campaign managers and administrators.

Syncing and connectivity

Project NC is designed to send saved activity back to the Field Operations dashboard.

If your device has a stable connection, interactions should sync automatically. If your connection is weak, some activity may remain pending until the app reconnects.

Tips:

  • Keep the app open until recent activity finishes syncing.
  • Check Sync Status before ending a field shift.
  • Reconnect to Wi-Fi or cellular service if syncing is delayed.
  • Do not uninstall the app while activity is waiting to sync.

Troubleshooting

I cannot sign in.

Confirm your username, password, and account status. If the issue continues, contact support@projectnc.com.

I do not see any assigned lists.

Your campaign manager may not have assigned a walking list or phone list to your account yet. Contact your manager.

My contacts are missing.

Contacts are based on assigned lists and account permissions. Refresh the app and confirm you are signed into the correct account.

My interaction did not appear in the dashboard.

Check Sync Status. If the interaction is pending, reconnect to the internet and allow the app to sync.

The map does not show all contacts.

Some contacts may not have valid coordinates. Contacts without coordinates may still appear in list view.

The app is slow or not loading.

Check your internet connection, close and reopen the app, and try again. If the issue continues, email support.

I found incorrect voter or lead information.

Record a note if appropriate and notify your campaign manager. Data corrections may need to be handled in the Field Operations dashboard.
